Monthly Meetings 2024

Programme for 2024 which includes a commemoration of D-Day and the Normandy Landings on Sunday 9th June.  Meetings are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month.  However this may change so please check details posted below.  We look forward to welcoming you.
Wednesday March 6th 2024, 7.30pm, Neatishead School
‘Farming – Past, Present & Future’
Presentation by one of our local farmers, Louis Baugh of Neatishead Hall. 
All welcome.  
Wednesday April  17th 2024, 7.30pm, Neatishead School
‘The long and winding road – wool, tapestries and the medieval global economy’
Presentation by Maria Jordan, former National Trust Conservator.
May – a local walk, date and venue to be arranged.
Sunday 9th June, 2024, 2-4.30pm, New Victory Hall, Neatishead.
An event to coincide with the 80th Anniversary of D-Day and the Normandy Landings.
Displays – Those who served and life in the villages during WW2. All welcome.  Refreshments.
July – a visit to Time and Tide Museum, Great Yarmouth.  Date to be arranged.

‘The late, great fishing industry of Great Yarmouth’
Presentation by Simon Partridge, Director, How Hill Trust

Annual General Meeting

Presentation for Remembrance to be confirmed.

NIBCHG ‘Friends‘ supports our ongoing research to preserve the heritage of the villages and you will receive regular email updates.  Entry to all monthly meetings is free for ‘ NIBCHG Friends‘; entry to monthly meetings with presentations is £3 for visitors.  Meetings are not usually held in August or December.

DISPLAYS

Regular displays on a different aspect of the villages’ history can be seen  at the Neatishead Community Market and Cafe, on the 2nd Saturday of each month (except January), 9am – 12noon at the New Victory Hall, Neatishead, NR12 8AD and members of the committee will be on hand with more information about the Group and its research.
